1999 - 2002 | Lame compositions [read]
Rehearsing every week in Wodzio’s appartment, Wodzirej (guitars) and Jaro (guitars) felt like going one step further and formed a band. Due to a series of coincidences they were joined by Komandos (bass) and Konar (drums). The boys were honing their skills by playing here and there for a mess of potage for the room’s owner or other services (like cleaning rubble for example). In this period some lame and lamer compositions appeared, bearing meaningful titles, such as: “Nice”, “Nightmare” or the immortal “I’m still there” which died of old age some time ago. Many of the songs appeared on the band’s first demo, some with their titles changed. Recorded and heard through, the songs were soon forgotten for the band’s own good.
2003 | Chain Reaction [read]
Smoking and drinking this and that, among loads of screams and fisticuffs the band finally chose its name. The unlucky winner was “Chain Reaction” saving people gems like “Mind Eater” and others, which fortunately I’m unable to recall right now. On May 15 – Konar’s 18th birthday – the band played its first unofficial concert for friends only (Polish beer is a killer!). In July, CR decided to enter Jacek Mielnicki’s DBX Studio in Warsaw to record the above mentioned first demo. Just as the recording of all instrumental parts was done, the works were suddenly interrupted for a very simple reason. The day before his recording the singer, Krzysztof, left the band – greetings to you and your mom, Krzysztof! At the end of 2003, only for a short while, Łukasz became the band’s throat.

2004 | Death of Heavy Metal - Modern [mode on] [read]
On February 13, CR (including Łukasz, Wodzirej, Jaro, Komandos, Konar) played its first official concert next to Hekatomba and Gutter Sirens in Progresja club in Warsaw. It was awesome. The next day, Łukasz suddenly left the band. Due to the heavy drinking after celebrating the concert, the band didn’t realize this fact until later. As soon as they did, a near-hysterical search for a replacement had begun. Ultimately, after several weeks of rehearsals, psychically exhausted, the band decided that Jaro was going to record the vocals. This way the works on the first (unfortunate) demo were completed. Jaro had to the job of both the singer and the guitarist on a few concerts. In October, sobbing and crying, Jaro decided to quit and chose a carrier in sports (surely, he must have thought that this would get him more chicks. Judging by today – he was right.) And there appeared Barton, who, thanks to his charisma, engagement and talent was immediately accepted as a vocalist. We finished 2004 with 12 concerts on our account.
2005 | We create! (except for this – boring!) [read]
Chain Reaction created completely new material and presented it in new make-up on several concerts. And basically nothing except for the concerts and accompanying events (which I am not allowed to describe here) happened. Just an ordinary, boring year.
2006 | id promo [read]
...As opposed to the previous one. That year the band entered Zed Studio in Olkusz to record, with the assistance of Tomasz “Zed” Zalewski another piece of material – “id” the Promo. The works lasted from April to June and the song “Manipulacja” was recorded featuring Auman (Frontside/Totem). During that time, we gave 2 concerts in Olkusz: April 30 with Totem and Żywioły in Baszta Club, and May 1 on Rock Competition in MDK in Olkusz, where we came out third. Thanks to that podium-win, the band could afford some gasoline and was able to get back to Warsaw. The songs from the promo were played among others in Antyradio and radio Campus FM. “id” was sent to many labels, but it was left without any, so to say, feedback. In September Dani joined the band, the ex-guitarist of Exlibris, and that was supposed to be that. But it wasn’t. In such make-up the band was promoting the “id” promo and composing new material. The statistics of alcohol abuse in the band increased drastically at that time. The 20 concerts played in the different cities in Poland in 2006 picked the local alcohol industry up from the bottom.
2007 | Vicious circle and a bunch of wild seagulls [read]
On January 6 CR played its third concert in Iława. The band miraculously escaped death from food poisoning (any suggestions and rumors concerning the alleged different cause of the tragic effects are false, offensive and abusive insinuations. All claiming so should be dragged with horses through the city and impaled). The concert was sold-out and we have many witnesses who can confirm our version. On March 11 we performed “Manipulacja” in Kuba Wojewódzki Show in TVN. It was tip-top. In Spring the contra-band revisited Olkusz for the well known, as well as wicked purpose, which is the recording of new material - this time a long play. After a few quarrels, fights and meat throwing the band decided to name the LP “Vicious Circle” and to ornament the cover with seagulls (or maybe terns – I can’t remember this one). Both the album and its cover – despite the warnings of some of the unfaithful – received great welcoming in Poland as well as abroad. The unquestionable proof for this, are the reviews in the press and on the Internet. The publishers however do not seem to share the common opinion of the journalists and meanly (that’s right – MEANLY) remain silent.
2008 | Victory at last! [read]
The year 2008 brought with it many concerts and important events. We played among others with Beatallica , Acid Drinkers and Kat. In October we got the chance to organize our own festival - “Chainfest”, on which we played with Flameborn (from Hungary) and Evergrey (from Sweeden, but I don’t think we need to introduce them any further). The concert turned out to be a great success (despite the temperature outside and some small technical difficulties) and the after party with Evergrey members was unforgettable. Another success we achieved this year was – finally - signing a contract with a label – Kolony Records (from Italy). Our album – “Vicious Circle” will be released in March 2009 and, hopefully, will turn out to be another great success for us.
